Its November already! Or as I like to call it: Yesvember! Seems like a nice update to one of my favorite months and I'm for saying yes to all the fun this time of year brings.
Here's five of my favorite things about this month:
- It's a month with a holiday all about giving thanks. Living a life focused on gratitude brings instant joy.
- Besides gratitude, I am all about the power of kindness. November 13 is World Kindness Day. On my, when-I-rule-the-world-list, I would add a day devoted to kindness on the calendar every month.
- A day to thank Veterans. I wasn't as attuned to this day as I should have been. Then I went with my dad to Normandy in France and I felt like my whole life changed. Who I was going there was different then who I was leaving. So many brave young men died fighting in the name of freedom. Our freedom. For me. For you. For our democratic countries. And there are memorial sites all around the world similar to Normandy. Since then, I make sure I thank every person serving and every Veteran. I live a good life - full of freedom - thanks to great sacrifice made by way too many.
- The decorations! I am all about fall. So I deck our house out with fall flair and then start mixing in the Christmas.
- My very favorite event of the year comes this month! I adore the Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade! I live in Washington state, so I don't attend in person, but I love watching it on TV.
Okay, and one little note on my least favorite part of this month. I live in the Seattle area and we get rain rain rain . A little is great. A lot gets old!
Still, its the holiday season. Everything is merry and bright!
