I had a wonderful birthday and from that I have declared this year is going to be: 

MY BEST YEAR EVER!

I put that in all caps because sometimes you have to be really loud to be sure the whole of the Universe hears you and knows you mean business. 🙂 The way I see it, two thirds of having the best year ever is declaring that it will be the best year ever. Words matter. Thoughts matter. Actions matter. Intentions matter. 

I know you all know all that - I write it mostly to remind myself. If I declare it's the very best year ever and stay focused on that, then even the challenges become less so. It's all in how you choose to view it.

But I'm not just declaring it so: I'm taking action. Every morning, I remind myself and my team in the heavens that this day is going to be great! And every night, I write down all the great things that have happened. Like just in this day alone, a little past noon, I have walked with a good friend so I got in 10,000 steps; found the very last popsicle in the bottom of a freezer drawer (yum!); got an invite to dinner from my sister; noticed my allergies aren't horrible today; and got the book Theo of Golden (which started as a self-published book and is now in the big times!) in the mail from a very kind friend. (Thank you Joe and Cheryl!) And we've only gone through half the day! Some of that is noticing how lucky I am and some of it is because I notice, great things come my way. 🙂

The main point is that it's not about the big things, the major things, the giant things like winning the lotto necessarily. It's about the small things that bring joy like pet sitting for friends, a rousing game of cards and loving the flowers in your yard. I guess, once again, it really comes down to living your life with gratitude. 

Why don't you all join me. Declare that you too are going to have your very best year ever and lets see how it goes and what happens. Maybe we'll all get to split a mega lotto in the end. 🙂
