When last we chatted here, I mentioned one of the best things about January was having time to get organized. Well, check it out! I started with my very disorganized refrigerator, and it is miles and miles better than it was. Thank goodness! I still have nine other areas on my list to organize this month but its good to get started and get one done.
My stretch goal for January, though, is a little more unique. I'm going to try to eat only out of our freezer and pantry for the month. We can still go out to eat but when we're eating at home, no matter what meal, the food has to come out of what we already have.
We have lots! In fact, I might be a bit of a food hoarder, I fear. I mean our freezer is full and our pantry has duplicates on most things in it. So, the time to work it down and use it up is now.
I will need to purchase milk and any fruit and vegetables, but I'm going to try and keep it to that short list. And I'm going to track - and photograph - what I purchase to keep me honest.
Any thoughts on a stretch goal for this month for you and yours? Have you tried anything like this before? I'm kind of excited about this. I'm hoping I can get creative with it but it might mean we eat a lot of soup this month.
